Lanna Thai Villa had its soft opening in 2009. Our home-stay hospitality business was opened on the advice of many friends and guests who encouraged us to offer our unique Thai homestay and travel experiences in Northern Thailand's Chiang Rai Province for the many travelers who come to Thailand seeking a more unique and personalized travel experience. Many tourists to Thailand see a few well known sites and end up returning home having had minimal contact with the peoples and cultures which make up this fascinating travel destination.
Many travelers would like a more authentic travel experience but lack Thai contacts and Thai language skills making a richer vacation adventure inaccessible. The Thai and American resident owners offer you the opportunity both to experience local Thai and ethnic hill tribe ceremonies and customs. Sermsri is a native of Thoeng with a large extended family. Steve is a 28 year resident of Thailand trained in geology and anthropology/archaeology. Both of us welcome your interest and any questions you may have about Chiang Rai and Northern Thailand.
